Mahoney "Sorceress" Walkaround

The radical staggerwing #89 "Sorceress" was built in 1970 by Lee and "Mickey" Mahoney in order to make maximum use of the Biplane class rules. It was the first biplane class racer to exceed 200 mph and won several races, including three Reno Championships when piloted by Don Beck. It was retired in 1984 and is preserved at the National Air & Space Museum's Udvar-Hazy Center, where it was photographed by Ben Guenther.
